| History: |
Spitfire NH799 was completely restored to zero time specification by Historic Flying in the United Kingdom in the mid 1990's for an overseas customer. Soon thereafter, the Spitfire was heavily damaged in a take-off accident in early 1996. The wreckage was then purchased by another individual who commissioned Avspecs Ltd. of Auckland, New Zealand to rebuild the Spitfire to flyable condition. The partially rebuilt Spitfire was placed in storage several years ago pending a decision on its future. In July 2007, Spitfire XIV NH799 was purchased by Provenance Fighter Sales who have contracted with Avspecs Ltd to compete the restoration to airworthy condition. The Spitfire will be registered and licensed with the F.A.A. in the United States. This is a unique opportunity to own a complete and original Spitfire restored to like new condition.
